Basic / Scenic
Hawaiian Shirts The basic all-over print Hawaiian shirts are probably the most common shirts. They are have a repeating print that appears all over the fabric, usually of a flower or leaf. The scenic prints have the same characteristics as the basic all-over print except that they contain scenery rather than a floral or leaf design. These shirts typically do not match up perfectly to create a seamless image at the buttons, although on some shirts they might. If necessary, these shirts can also be tucked in, but most people prefer to wear their Hawaiian shirts untucked. |

Panel Hawaiian
Shirts Panel Hawaiian shirts have prints that are laid out in vertical panels, usually flowers and/or leaves. Like other shirts, panel shirts have repeating patterns. These shirts typically do not match up perfectly to create a seamless image at the buttons the way border or engineered shirts do. The panel prints are popular in matching men's Hawaiian shirts and women's dresses The vertical flow of the design makes the dress look longer and more flattering. |

Rayon Hawaiian
Shirts Our rayon Hawaiian shirts are our most premium type. The softness and smoothness of this particular rayon gives these Hawaiian shirts a very upscale quality feel that falls very nicely on a body. Sometimes these shirts are referred to as resort shirts because of their refined look, as opposed to the bold bright, and sometimes loud cotton shirts. This doesn't mean that rayon shirts can't be loud. In fact, the colors of the design actually "pop out" more on rayon than they do on other materials. |

Border &
Engineered Hawaiian Shirts Border and Engineered Hawaiian shirts have a design that goes across the shirt to form a continuous image. Most border print shirts have designs that repeat every 10-12 inches while engineered prints repeat every 18 inches as you go from one side to the other. The better-made shirts (including all of these below) are carefully made so that the artwork "matches" so that when the shirt is buttoned, the pattern crates an uninterrupted image from one side of the shirt to the other. If the design happens to go across the bottom of the shirt, they may be called a Bottom Design Hawaiian shirt. Traditionally, because of the extra skill and effort involved with creating a quality border Hawaiian shirt, it was considered rude to tuck it in. The shirt should be worn untucked to show off the complete design as if displaying a piece of artwork. |
